I’m currently working on a campaign with Lee Kum Kee to join their #LLKOysterSauceChallenge and this is what I came up with.
Oyster sauce is a sweet and salty condiment made primarily from oyster juices, salt, and sugar. If you want a nice sheen and an extra boost of umami to your food, oyster sauce is your guy!! They also have a vegan version that’s made from mushrooms. You can find it here.
It’s often used in veggie stir fry, noodle dishes & everything from seafood to meat. I decided to go with wings because you can’t f*ck up wings & everyone loves wings!
Ingredients
Chicken Wings (1/2 pound)
Oyster Sauce (4 tablespoons)
Dark Cooking Soy Sauce (3 tablespoons)
Honey (2 tablespoons)
Rice Vinegar (2 tablespoons)
Sesame seeds (garnish)
Green onions (garnish)
Lime (garnish)
Directions
Marinade the wings with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 3 tablespoons of dark cooking soy sauce. Cover and let it sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, but as always, the more time the better.
Bring cooking oil to 350 and drop the wings in for about 10 minutes. I fried mine, but these can also be air fried.
Mix together 4 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar and heat it up in a pan for about 2-3 minutes so all the flavors can be one with each other.
Toss the cooked wings in the glaze.
Plate and garnish with sesame seeds & scallions.
Enjoy (:
